The CSOP website, was the last to under go the transition into a WordPress template, the same as the Athletics website. It featured integration with Facebook and Youtube, as well as allowed the client to update text.
The CMU athletics website was the next website to get converted into a WordPress template. It was a perfect department for this, since during the school year, it constantly had news and updates from a variety of teams. It benefited from having social media integration such as twitter and facebook, as well as Picasa widgets to feature the photo albums from the games.
Canadian Mennonite University’s media site was the first site designed and maintained completely in WordPress. It had the similar look and feel of its parent site for branding purposes, but incorporated social media such as facebook, twitter and youtube. Users could now subscribe to its rss feed and faculty members were now posting blogs.
CSOP was one of the institutes at Canadian Mennonite University. For this previous site, it had to have a similar look and feel to its parent site www.cmu.ca, as well as the other institutes, colleges and program sites. The top branded header image bar is common to all, and the logo is in the top left menu bar.
The School of Writing at Canadian Mennonite University website was based on the cmu.ca template. The website for MSC was patterned after its parent site from Canadian Mennonite University’s web page cmu.ca. Both were designed in Dreamweaver with HTML and CSS. They both use a similar top image branded header bar, similar menu style, similar rounded buttons, similar beige background, and google search engine. This smaller site has on average 70 pages. MSC is known for its strong programs in Conflict Resolution Studies, International Development Studies and the Practica program. Tracked with Google Analytics.
Canadian Mennonite University’s website was designed in Dreamweaver with HTML and CSS coding. The first web site had a broken template (many of the pages linked to one that couldn’t be found), or no template at all. There were also dead links and missing files throughout the entire site. Many of the main features and menu options for this site, disappeared once you left the home page. This new site had over 500 pages attached to it and was updated daily if not weekly. It was designed for many audiences; new students, current students, parents, alumni, donors, and faculty & staff. One of the on-going challenges was organizing the menu so that every need was met with the best solution.
The new site featured a top branded header image bar, beige background, google search page, rounded menu buttons featuring new programs and social media, and the rss news feed from the new media.cmu.ca site. Tracked with Google Analytics.
